Rocket Rundown February 22, 2019
It’s time for this week’s edition of the Rocket Rundown – your guide to Assumption Athletic Events!
Two members of the Archery team placed individually at the Thomas Nelson Archery Tournament last weekend in Bardstown, Kentucky. Brianna Carroll came in 2nd place with a score of 285 and Sarah Chung came in 4th with a score of 283. Congrats, Rockets!
Basketball played Brown in the first round of the 26th District Tournament Monday night. Assumption beat Brown 69-27. The Rockets lost to Male on Wednesday night.
Good luck to the Swim Team as they head to the KHSAA State Championship this weekend!
TRANSPORTATION TO THE GREEN FOR SPRING SPORTS:
A reminder – transportation to the Green for spring athletes began on Wednesday, February 13th. Please read the following carefully so that you can share this information with your daughter. There are two potential bus runs to the Green offered each day depending on team schedules. A weekly schedule with be shared with parents through this report. The bus will be in the parking lot outside the CAC doors immediately after school and again for the second run when needed.
Run 1: Students who have practice beginning immediately after school will depart from school by 3:00 p.m. each day. No other students may take the 3:00 p.m. run to the Green for any reason.
Run 2: A second bus run to the Green will leave school approximately 30 minutes before practice for practice Monday thru Friday for those athletes whose practices or games begin later but before 5:00 p.m. These students must go to one of the designated areas at school where supervision is provided (media center or the cafeteria) until their bus run.
Expectations of students on the bus and once they arrive at the Green: Students should be courteous to the bus driver and act appropriately on the bus before leaving and during the trip to the Green. They should make sure that they have all of their belongings. If items are left on the bus, they will be placed in the lost and found upon the buses return to school. They are expected to utilize the locker rooms or classroom area to store their belongings and prepare for practice.
Home Game Days: Athletes may utilize the second run on game day. If they arrive at the Green early, they must wait in the lobby area or the front hallway. There is room to sit and work on homework (tablets will automatically connect to the Wi-Fi). Snacks may be brought and eaten in the lobby and hallway areas, but the girls should be sure that all unwanted food and wrappers be disposed of properly. Once students arrive at the Green, they may not leave the facility to walk and get food or for any other reason until they are picked up from their event. They may not order food to be delivered to the Green. Students should not be hanging out in the locker rooms or the training rooms.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to evaluate the needs for transportation to the Green. If your daughter is a spring student-athlete, please talk so that she understands which bus run she should take each day depending on her scheduled practice or game schedule. Any questions? Please email email@example.com.
